Wow.
Seamus Powell (KHS Factory Racing) and Jimmy Smith (Fuji Bikes Factory Team) took 1st and 2nd at the 2018 Enduro National Championships!
Between the two of them, they had the fastest times on each and every stage at the race.
It’s been amazing to watch the evolution of these two riders–well done.
I can tell you for sure that the fastest enduro racers work extremely hard and take their training very seriously. Power meters, gym sessions, cross-training, logging all their information… All that and they still have to show up to races, learn their lines and take some massive chances on very difficult trails!
What a tough job!
Cassie and Levi also had big goals for nationals this year. And with the race being only about an hour from their house, there were sure to be lots of friends and family there to cheer them on.
After winning her age group and having the fastest lap times last year at nationals, Cassie wanted to race with the Pro women. A first lap flat and repair was a bit of a worry, but she set off through the field and worked her way up to 14th! He last lap was her fastest, which shows her excellent endurance a patient tact.
Levi firstly raced the enduro, where he landed 7th! He was on pace for a podium, however lost time with a mechanical on stage 1. Watch out for this 16 year old!
The next day he raced the 15/16 XC where he started at the back of the 100+ rider field. He worked his way up the whole race!
Awesome work to all!
